Michael Edwards began his tenure in 2016 with Mt. SAC, his Alma Mater, where he coaches the wide receivers. As a Mountie, Edwards made a significant impact on the field alongside the legendary quarterback Nick Lamaison. Together, they led the team to the 2010 State and National Championships. In the State Championship game against College of San Mateo, Edwards made a significant impact by catching six passes for 67 yards and a touchdown, earning him the State Championship MVP title.
Edwards continued his football career at the University of Texas El Paso, where he once again teamed up with Lamaison and excelled on the field. In his junior season, he led the team with 50 receptions, 657 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, and an average of 54.8 receiving yards per game. During his senior season, Edwards topped the team with 51 receptions, eight receiving touchdowns and also recorded 14 punt returns for 106 yards.
A graduate of Glendora High School, Edwards led his team to a Sierra League Championship and earned All-Southern Section Inland Division Defensive Honors.
