
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Tennis Team continues to shine this season, securing a dominant 5-0 victory over Santa Barbara City College in the first round of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals on Tuesday, April 8, at home.
The Mt. SAC doubles teams put on impressive performances, with Julianna Vich and Paige Valenzuela earning an 8-6 win in a hard-fought match against Callie Tzab and Yoshino Fujita. Tabitha Ortiz and Kasandra Uy cruised to an 8-2 victory in the second spot over Sierra Bolanos and Jana Leowald, while Emma Cervantes and Mia Vo completed the sweep with an 8-5 win in the third spot in their match versus Ashley Birch and Lela Fenstemaker.
In singles play, Uy triumphed 6-3, 6-0 over Tzab, and Sichen Chang won by default after her opponent retired with a score of 0-6, 3-0.
The remaining singles matches were not needed, as the Mounties had already accumulated enough points to secure the victory and advance to the next round.

With a record of 15-2, the Mounties move on to the second round of the SoCal Regional Championships, where they will face off against Orange Coast College (16-1) on Tuesday, April 15, at 2:00 PM. Good luck, ladies – we're cheering for you!
