
El Cajon, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team had a strong showing at the 2025 Cuyamaca Invitational on Saturday, March 1, securing first-place finishes in 10 events, second-place in seven, and third-place in five.
Leading the way with first-place victories were Enessah Hawkins in the 100 meters, Kahlai Cruser in both the 200 meters and 400 meters, and Carlota Romay Rega in the 400-meter hurdles. The team also excelled in field events, with Astrid Teran winning the pole vault, Annah-Bryce Wright taking first in the long jump, and Alessandra Jefferson claiming the triple jump title. Sidney Sparks dominated the shot put, while Phoenix Raso and Araxy Chivchyan earned top honors in the discus and hammer throw, respectively.
In second place, Sophia Ebiner finished strong in the 1500 meters, while Kaitlyn Reyes secured the runner-up spot in the 3000 meters. Leilani Centeno had impressive performances in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles, earning second in both events. Brooke Welliver showcased her versatility by placing second in the discus and hammer throw, while Raso rounded out the second-place finishes in the javelin.
The team also had a strong showing in third-place finishes. Wright added to her success with a third-place finish in the 100 meters, while Ava Cornell claimed third in the 3000 meters. Samantha Diener earned a podium spot in the pole vault, Camryn Calderon placed third in the shot put, and Angie Valencia secured third in the hammer throw.
With an impressive performance at the Cuyamaca Invitational, the Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team continues to build momentum as they prepare for their next competition.
