Monterey Park, Calif. – In their fifth shutout game of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team sent the East Los Angeles College Huskies back to their den without a single goal in a 3-0 win on Tuesday, October 14. With the win, the Mounties improve to 7-2-3 overall and 2-0 in South Coast Conference play. The Huskies, meanwhile, fall to 4-9-1 and 0-3 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Nadine Padilla got the Mounties rolling with a goal in the 15th minute. Zophia Romero followed up with another in the 37th, and Eden Ramirez capped off the scoring just after halftime in the 45th minute.

Mt. SAC dominated on both sides of the field, outshooting ELAC 13-2. Goalkeeper Makenna Servello had a quiet day, with ELAC failing to record a single shot on goal — a clear credit to the Mounties' rock-solid defense. ELAC's keeper managed four saves to help keep the score from running away.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties return home Friday, October 17 at 7:00 PM to host El Camino College (2-8-2) in a special celebration of the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Women's Soccer State Championship. Alumni from the title-winning team and their former coach will be in attendance. We hope you can come out to cheer for the Mounties – past and present.
