The states' top-ranked team improves to a state-best 31-2 record and will play Ventura who advance after defeating City College of San Francisco quarterfinal game.
Two recently named All-State players, sophomore guard Caira Benton (First Team) and freshman guard Dominique McLaughlin (Second Team) of the Mounties, scored 12 points each.
Sophomore forward Allyah George (3-4 FT, 5 RB, 3 steals) added 11 points and sophomore guard Amari Terry (2-3 FG, 3-3 FT, 4 RB) had seven.
After trailing by a basket, 12-10, at the end of the first quarter, the Mounties started the second quarter on a 15-2 run halfway through the period and built up a 16-point halftime lead, 34-18.
Each team scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Mounties maintained their 16-point lead, 44-28, heading into the final quarter.
However, Foothill mounted a late comeback in the final quarter with a 15-6 run to trail by only seven points, 50-43, with 4:46 remaining.
Four big rebounds and a blocked shot by All-State, third-team selection Kali Jones (7 RB, 3 blks., steal, 8 pts.) and an 8-3 run to end the game sealed the victory for Mt. SAC.
