Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team showcased talent and skill with their impressive 91-36 victory over Pasadena City College on Friday, January 24. Raising the bar with the most points they've scored in a game this season, the Mounties improve their record to 18-4, while the Lancers fall to 5-15.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

From the opening tip-off, Mt. SAC displayed their dominance. Alana Diaz tipped the ball in favor of the Mounties, and seconds later, Elizabeth Udeze raced down the court for a layup, putting Mt. SAC on the scoreboard first. Pasadena City responded with a jump shot from Monica Menzies, but the Mounties quickly seized control. Taliyah McFerson powered the offense with nine points in the first quarter, and Mt. SAC finished the period with a 21-8 lead.

In the second quarter, the Lancers got a boost from Lyndsey Valverde, who contributed four points. However, the Mounties continued their onslaught, adding 15 more points behind strong performances from Naomi Acuna and Diaz. Destiny King controlled the glass and facilitated the offense, and by halftime, the Mounties had a commanding 36-12 lead.

Mt. SAC came out of the break incredibly strong, adding 30 points in the third quarter – their highest-scoring period of the game. McFerson and Acuna led the charge, with Ryann Riddle knocking down a three-pointer and King showing exceptional leadership with crisp ball movement. Meanwhile, Pasadena's Sheridan Orange found some success, scoring six of her team's 12 points in the quarter.

The Mounties finished the game just as they started - strong, confident and controlled. Armani Owens, Riddle, Loremy Lopez and Elizabeth Udeze kept the momentum going as they added another 25 points to the board, capping of Mt. SAC's most impressive offensive outing of the season.
