Gamboa holds a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science (2017) and a master’s degree in athletic training (2019), both earned from Azusa Pacific University. In 2024, she completed her doctorate in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine from the Southern California University of Health Sciences. She explored the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and diet therapy to treat mental and emotional conditions, resulting in reduced pain and improved well-being.

A graduate of Diamond Bar High School, Gamboa played volleyball and gained early experience in the athletic training clinic, knowing she wanted to pursue this career path. She has a particular interest in supporting women’s sports and is excited by their growing popularity. At Mt. SAC, Gamboa works closely with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive Teams, and Women’s Wrestling Team, where her expertise and enthusiasm contribute to their success.

In addition to her role at Mt. SAC, Gamboa is an athletic trainer at UCLA Recreation, focusing on the spirit squad as they cheer and dance during athletic events. She also enjoys attending Division I games, further fueling her love for sports.

As a first-generation Peruvian American, Gamboa takes pride in being the first in her family on her mother’s side to attend college and earn a doctorate. Her parents’ migration from Peru to the United States inspires her drive and dedication.

Outside of work, Gamboa enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her beloved pit bull, Jules. She currently resides in Pomona, California.
