(Glendora, CA) Taking a break from conference action, the Mt. SAC baseball team concluded a two-game sweep of host Citrus with a 9-5 win Thursday, March 28.
After a recent five-game losing streak, the Mounties have responded with three wins in a row to improve to 16-11 overall.
Mt. SAC defeated Citrus, 12-5, Tuesday, March 26.
Leading the way for the Mounties was sophomore first baseman Kaden Moeller (3-6, 2 Rs, 2 RBIs, HR) and center fielder Joey Rossetti (2-4, 2 Rs, RBI, 2 SBs).
Freshman third baseman Ty Thomas also hit a two-run home run in the seventh for the Mounties to lead, 6-4.
After Citrus took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, the Mounties scored seven runs in four of the next five innings to lead, 7-4.
Freshman pitcher Matt Viveros (3-0), with three innings in relief, earned the win for the Mounties, while freshman Jaden Mackowiak picked up his second save of the season.
