Mt. SAC Baseball falls in extra innings to MSJC, 6-3

(Walnut, CA) After tying the game with a ninth-inning rally, the Mt. SAC Baseball team lost to visiting Mt. San Jacinto College, 6-3, on Saturday, February 17 at Mazmanian Field.

Trailing, 3-1, heading into the bottom of the ninth, freshman left fielder Bryan Bradshaw (2-5, R, 2 RBIs) hit a two-run triple, scoring sophomore centerfielder Joey Rossetti and freshman second baseman Joel Gutierrez (1-3, R) to tie the score at 3-3.

However, in the 10th inning, the Eagles scored three runs and held on for the win, as the Mounties left runners on second and third.

Mt. SAC (6-4) opened the game with a run in the first inning as they loaded the bases and Bradshaw scored after an infield out.

Mt. San Jacinto took the lead in the third inning with two runs and added a third run in the fourth to lead, 3-1.

Sophomore right-hander Kyle Calzadiaz started the game for the Mounties pitching six innings, allowing three runs, and striking out nine Eagles batters.

Sophomore reliever Ray Northey (1-2) suffered the loss.

Mt. SAC continues non-conference action, weather permitting, on Tuesday (Feb. 20) as they host Cypress.
