
Riverside, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team competed at the Riverside City College Open on Friday, March 14, finishing in 4th place with a score of 72 points. The meet was dominated by North Dakota, who secured 1st place with a total of 322 points. Riverside finished in 2nd place with 113 points, while Chapman rounded out the top three with 98 points
Kahlai Cruser led the way for the Mounties, securing a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 58.04 seconds. She followed up with a fourth place performance in the 800 meters, clocking in at 2:24.22. In the 1500 meters, Kaitlyn Reyes made her presence known, earning second place with a time of 4:50.77. Yadira Arnold also competed in the 1500 meters and placed fourth with a time of 4:57.60, contributing to the team's overall performance.
In the hurdles, Alyssah Johnson finished in fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 1:07.11. The 4x400-meter relay team, featuring Johnson, Alessandra Jefferson, Carlota Romay Rega, and Leilani Centeno, placed fourth with a time of 4:13.40, demonstrating strong team effort and speed.
In the field events, Samantha Diener delivered a solid performance in the pole vault, finishing third with a clearance of 10' 2.5". Though the competition was fierce, the Mt. SAC women held their own and showcased their skills across a variety of events.
