
(Long Beach, CA) In a South Coast Conference matchup on Friday, Mt. SAC (11-2-2, 6-0) ran its unbeaten streak to 10 by handing host Long Beach City College (7-4-2, 4-2) a 3-1 defeat behind a balanced offensive output.
Gabriella Sanchez scored the first Mountie goal at the 10:08 mark on an assist from Fatima Arnold, then teammate Jacquelynn Coronado added another in the second half at the 47:31 point, also on an assist from Arnold. Karissa Vela accounted for the final Mt. SAC goal, which was unassisted at 50:18, to put the visitors up 3-0.
The Vikings' lone goal came late in the game (84:33).
Goalie Leila Peregrina had three saves in 90 minutes for the Mounties.
Cerritos (4-7-1, 3-1-1) will visit Mt. SAC on Tuesday, Oct. 26, for an SCC contest at 7 p.m.
