(Monterey Park, CA) Top-ranked (in the state) Mt. San Antonio College (36-3, 18-2) was victorious for the 19th game in a row with a, 4-1, South Coast Conference win over host East Los Angeles College (16-21, 8-11) on Monday, April 25. With the win, Mt. SAC captured its 13th SCC softball title (5th in a row).
Serena Navarrete (11-0) got the win for the Mounties, pitching 3.2 innings in relief of starter Grace Pieson (3.1 IP, R, 0 ER, 3 SO), allowing no runs, and striking out two.
Top offensive performances for Mt. SAC included Asia Chacon (2-3, R), Arely Coronado (2-4, 2 R, RBI, 2B), Alyssa Castaneda (1-3, 2 RBI), and Alyssa Gonzalez (1-3, RBI). Emily Barba, Chacon, and Coronado each had a stolen base for the Mounties.
Mt. SAC will close out the regular-season schedule with an SCC matchup against Pasadena City College (14-25, 3-17), at home, on Tuesday, April 26, at 5 p.m.
