Carsandra Taylor enters her 13th season (2024-2025) as part of the Mt. SAC Women’s Basketball coaching staff and celebrates an incredible 48 years with the program. Before joining the coaching staff, Taylor dedicated 35 years (1977-2012) to the college as the head athletic trainer, ensuring the health, safety and well-being of thousands of Mt. SAC student-athletes across nearly every sport.
In 2015, Taylor was inducted into the Mt. SAC Athletics Hall of Fame for her lifelong work and commitment to Mt. SAC student-athletes.
Taylor was a standout basketball and track & field athlete at Matawan Regional High School in New Jersey, where she is a member their Hall of Fame. She continued her education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where she broke barriers as only the second African American woman to be certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 1976.
A highly respected figure in the athletic training profession, Taylor has served as an athletic trainer at numerous national and international events, including for U.S. National Track & Field Teams. Her expertise also earned her a role at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, where she gained lasting recognition for assisting fallen runner Mary Decker Slaney in one of the most iconic sports images ever captured (Sports Illustrated - 100 Greatest Sports Photos of All-Time).
Of all of her accomplishments, she takes the most pride in her continued commitment to Mt. SAC student-athletes.
