Anthony Gonzalez joined Mt. SAC in 2022 as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Women’s Softball program. A former infielder at the University of La Verne, Gonzalez earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology before pursuing a master’s degree in exercise science from Concordia University Irvine.
Since his arrival, Gonzalez has assembled recruiting classes that secured three consecutive South Coast Conference Championships (2022, 2023, 2024) and appearances in the 3C2A State Championships. His efforts have developed standout athletes, including state leaders in home runs and extra-base hits in 2023, as well as three infielders who earned Gold Glove honors under his guidance.
Outside of his coaching duties, Gonzalez enjoys spending time with his family, wakeboarding, skateboarding, and identifying top talent for the Mt. SAC softball program. A devoted sports fan, he cheers for the Dodgers, Lakers, Raiders, and USC. Gonzalez and his wife, Haley, welcomed their first child, A.J., in September 2024. The family resides in Covina.
