Win over Cerritos keeps Mountie Women's Water Polo tied for first in SCC standings

(Walnut, CA) In a South Coast Conference matchup, host Mt. San Antonio College (12-7, 6-0) outlasted Cerritos College (6-12, 4-2) to earn an 8-6 victory on Wednesday, Oct. 19, to stay tied with Long Beach City College (13-8, 6-0) for first in the conference standings.

Alexis Ramirez led the way for the Mounties against the Falcons, posting three scores as teammate Jayde Gutierrez added two. Alyssa Fox, Xen Allen (two assists), and Nature Reep accounted for the other Mt. SAC goals.

The Mounties and Vikings will face off at Long Beach City College for the SCC regular-season crown on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. Before then, Mt. SAC will participate in the Eduard "Tuna" Gorodetsky Mini Tournament at Santa Monica College on Friday, Oct. 21, with contests against San Diego Mesa College (11-5) at 3 p.m. and Santa Monica (3-16) at 6:30 p.m.
