(Walnut, CA)   First year Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball Head Coach, Ali Carey-Oliver, was named 2016 South Coast Conference (SCC) North Division Coach of the Year.  Oliver earned the honor by leading the Mounties to their first ever South Coast Conference (SCC) Women's Volleyball Championship. The team went a perfect, 8-0, in SCC North Division play and earned the No. 16 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Regional Championships. 

Sophomore, outside hitter, Haley English, was named SCC North Most Valuable Player with 2.72 kills, .284 kill pct. and 1.7 digs per set.  Along with her SCC Honor, English was named to the CCCAA Women's Volleyball All-Southern California Region Team.  

The other top honor in the SCC, went to sophomore, Alexandria Peterson who was selected Libero of the Year, with 3.19 digs per set.

First-team honors went to outside hitter, Makenzie Thieme (2.99 kills, 1.6 digs) and setter, Carolina Urquieta (6.95 assists, 36 aces, 0.6 blocks).

Second-team honors went to Erica Gumz (2.24 kills, 1.75 digs), Kaitlyn Partridge (.84 blocks, 1.7 digs, .291 kpct) and  Jordon Wilson (1.25 blocks, 1.7 kills).

Congratulations and good luck to Coach Carey-Oliver, her staff and the Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball Team, as they enter the play-offs.
