Mt. SAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Sweeps LBCC, Trade Tech; Trieu, Harary Win Three Events Each

(Walnut, CA) After the second dual of the season, the Mt. SAC Men's Swimming & Diving Team sits atop the South Coast Conference standings with easy victories over Los Angeles Trade Tech and Long Beach City College Friday (3/15) at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Complex.

The Mounties (4-0), who defeated LBCC, 226-40 and Trade Tech, 238-11, scored over 200 points for the fourth straight meet to overwhelm the visitors. 

Individual honors for the day go to sophomores Ethan Trieu and Jason Harary for taking home three individual first place finishes. They were also members of the first-place 200 Medley Relay team, along with Ryan Lin and Jonathan Olvera.

On the day as a team, Mt. SAC took first in fourteen of the fifteen events.

Individually, Harary, who was chosen as Mt. SAC's 2018 Male Athlete of the Year and won a 2018 CCCAA State Championship in the 400 Individual Medley, finished first in the 100 Breaststroke (59.28), 200 Backstroke (1:58.55) and 100 Butterfly (51.93).

Trieu won the 100 Backstroke (52.69), 50 Freestyle (21.42) and the 200 IM (1:57.63).

Sweeping the first three places in the 1-Meter Diving for the Mounties was William Struve (198.15 points), Andrew Chavez (103.90) and Bradley Poma (88.40).

Other first-place finishers for the Mounties were Zachary Anaya, 200 Free (1:50.56); Edgar Cueva, 100 Free (49.22); Victor Urias, 500 Free (5:12.31); Olvera, 200 Fly (1:58.89) and Lin, 200 Breast (2:16.96).

The Mounties host another double dual Friday (3/22) against Chaffey and Rio Hondo.
