Fresno, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Wrestling Team emerged victorious at the 3C2A Women's Wrestling Dual State Meet on Saturday, March 8, at Fresno City College, claiming the championship title in dominant fashion.

Competing in Pool B, the Mounties showcased their strength from the start. In the opening round, they overpowered Cuesta College with a 39-4 victory. Key performances included Leilani Lazaro's technical fall over Ayten Elbarbary (124 lbs.) and Alexis Jimenez's commanding technical fall against Piper Lalli (145 lbs.). Additional wins came from Jasmine Macias (131 lbs.), Tehya Ledesma (138 lbs.), and Brianna Macias (207 lbs.), while Jenelle Gozun, Mackenzie Muniz, and Andrea Vidrio Majano secured victories via forfeit.

The Mounties carried their momentum into round two, shutting out host Fresno City College 50-0. Nyomi Mesa (160 lbs.) took down Leslie Ibarra, Vidrio Majano (180 lbs.) defeated Blanca Aleman, and Macias emerged victorious against Carmen Garcia. Gozun (110 lbs.), Muniz (117 lbs.), Tiffany Yanagi (124 lbs.), and Zitlali Sarmiento (131 lbs.) also contributed key wins to help Mt. SAC secure first place in Pool B.

The Mounties moved onto the semifinals, where they faced East Los Angeles College, earning a 33-15 victory. Crucial technical falls from Lazaro (124 lbs.), Jimenez (145 lbs.), Vidrio Majano (160 lbs.), and Jade Seitz (207 lbs.) propelled them into the championship match.

Mt. SAC capped off the tournament with a decisive 31-18 win over Cerritos College to secure first place. Lazaro (124 lbs.) and Vida Beckel (160 lbs.) recorded technical falls, while Gozun (103 lbs.), Muniz (117 lbs.), Jasmine Macias (131 lbs.), Sarmiento (138 lbs.), and Jimenez (145 lbs.) notched falls to seal the title.

With their impressive display of skill and determination, the Mounties solidified their status as the top team in the 3C2A Women's Wrestling Dual State Meet.
