Mountie Women's Wrestling takes second at 3C2A State Championships, earns three state titles

(Sacramento, CA) At the 2024 3C2A State Championships held at Sacramento City College on Saturday, April 20, Mt. San Antonio College finished second as a team with 127.5 points. Cerritos College finished first with 166 points and East Los Angeles College took third with 120.5.

In a field of 97 wrestlers from 13 teams, three Mounties captured state titles in their respective weight categories and two others earned runner-up status.

Tiffany Yanagi (109 lbs.), Herminia Estrada (128 lbs.), and Megan Dean (Irwin) (136 lbs.) finished first for Mt. SAC, thus earning state championships, while Elizabeth Carrillo (148 lbs.) and Heyley Huynh (180 lbs.) accounted for the team's runner-up finishes.

This concludes the 2024 season, which saw the Mounties compile a 4-2 overall team record (3-1 in conference). We'll see you in 2025!
