Mt. SAC Women’s Water Polo Ends Regular Season with Impressive 20-2 Win

Walnut, Calif. – In an incredible display of dominance, the Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo Team outscored Cerritos College 20-2 on Wednesday, October 30, in their final regular game of the season.

Rachel Donahue and Vayda Saucedo led the charge, each netting five goals, while Emily Velasco and Maya Boiarsky contributed two goals apiece. Carolyn Kao, Vivian Gil, Makayla Martinez-Gomez, Sarah Takacs, Angelina Hernandez, and Ivy Cervantes each added one goal, bringing the team total to 20.

The Falcons managed only two goals, one in each half, struggling to break through the Mounties' formidable defense. Goalkeepers Keira Bozek and Annika Shaffer combined for 12 saves, effectively shutting down Cerritos' offensive efforts. The match featured intense play, including multiple ejections and penalties on both sides.

With an overall record of 11-8 and a conference record of 6-1, the Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo Team currently ranks second in the South Coast Conference, trailing Long Beach, which holds a remarkable 29-2 overall record and a perfect 7-0 in conference play.

Next up, the Mounties will compete in the South Coast Conference Tournament, scheduled for November 7-9 at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center.
