Mt. SAC Women’s Volleyball Team Sweeps LA Harbor in Dominant 3-0 Victory

In a stunning performance, the Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball Team defeated LA Harbor College in a commanding straight-set victory with a final score of 3-0 on Wednesday, October 23. The match, held at LA Harbor College, demonstrated Mt. SAC's dominance on the court and depth of talent, with set scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-22.

From the outset, Mt. SAC set the pace with an impressive offensive strategy and tight defense, preventing the Seahawks from gaining any momentum. The team finished the match with a total of nine blocks, 39 digs, and 30 kills, achieving an overall hitting percentage of .160.

The Mounties' middle blockers were fierce at the net, with Jordyn Romano leading the charge with six kills and three blocks and Itzel Aguayo contributing significantly with five kills and two blocks. Right-side hitter Rhiannon Rodriguez had a standout performance with six kills, four digs, and two blocks, while outside hitter Emma Carson added four kills and five digs. Kaylin Mendoza also made her mark with four crucial kills, and libero Freda Lei owned the back row with nine digs, thwarting LA Harbor's offensive efforts.

With this victory, Mt. SAC's record improves to 14-6 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference play, while LA Harbor falls to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in conference. In this week's poll, the Mounties are ranked No. 9 in Southern California and No. 14 in the state.

Next up, the Mt. SAC Mounties will face the Compton College Tartars at home on Friday, October 25, at 6:00 PM. With only six regular-season games remaining, including a doubleheader on Wednesday, November 13, at Los Angeles City College, the Mounties are gearing up for the playoffs.
