Los Angeles, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team is making their way back into the rankings as one of California's top teams, adding another win with a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles City College on Tuesday, October 28. Following this game, the Mounties improve to 11-2-3 overall and remain undefeated in the South Coast Conference at 6-0. Meanwhile, LACC falls to 3-8-3 overall and 1-4-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After a scoreless first half, the Mounties put up back-to-back goals in the second to take the lead and the win. Samantha Sanchez broke the deadlock with a goal in the 63rd minute, followed just three minutes later by Nadine Padilla who doubled the lead.

Goalkeepers Makenna Servello and Zanette Gonzalez split time in net, combining efforts to preserve the clean sheet.

The Mounties' defense continues to impress — nine of their 11 wins have been shutouts, showcasing the strength of their back line and the reliability of their keepers.

NEXT UP:

Mt. SAC is set to face off against Long Beach (13-1-1, 6-0-1) in a highly anticipated conference matchup on Friday, October 31, at 4:00 PM. Both teams remain unbeaten in conference play, making this a pivotal game in the SCC standings.

In the latest CCCSIA Women's Soccer Poll, Mt. SAC is ranked No. 15, while Long Beach holds the No. 3 spot.
