The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team secured an impressive 3-0 victory over Cosumnes River on Friday, September 6 as part of the Mt. SAC / Nike / Azteca Soccer Tournament. The match, held at Mt. SAC, showcased the Mounties' strong offensive and defensive skills as they netted three goals while maintaining a clean sheet.
Midfielder Vivian Lopez got the scoring underway in the 7th minute, off an assist from Kathryn Davis. The Mounties continued their momentum with midfielder Alyssa Shaughnessy scoring goal number two just before halftime, thanks to an assist from Samantha Sanchez. The final goal of the match came in the 56th minute when Noely Rodriguez converted a pass from Kayla Medina, sealing the win for Mt. SAC.
Goalkeeper Anai Olmedo was instrumental in preserving the clean sheet, making two crucial saves throughout the match. The Mounties fired ten shots on goal, highlighting their offensive strength.
With this win, Mt. SAC improves their season record to 3-2.
