(Norwalk, CA) The Mt. SAC Wrestling team, off to its best start in years, remained perfect on the season, with its second conference dual match win, along with three tourney wins and a SoCal Dual Championship.
The latest victory was a dominating, 37-9 SCWA Southwest Conference victory over host Cerritos Wednesday, October 20.
Mt. SAC won seven of the 10 matches on the mat for the one-sided victory.
Each team had a forfeit match win.
The Mounties, behind pins from David Saenz, 133 Lbs. (2:45), Thomas Chapman, 141 Lbs. (6:00) and Wetzel Hill, 174 (4:45) and four decisions, continued their mid-season winning streak.
Hill is currently undefeated (17-0) this season and ranked first in the state.
One of the four Mt. SAC decisions was a major decision win by Nate Kendricks, 15-6.
The other three Mt. SAC decisions were: Christopher Betancourt, 125 Lbs. (6-5), Mark Martinez, 149 Lbs. (8-3) and Bradley Chirino, 157 Lbs. (7-0).
Mt. SAC continues SCWA Conference action Wednesday (Oct. 27) with a home match against Santa Ana College.
