(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team continued its season-high winning streak at five games with a convincing 76-59 non-conference win over visiting Victory Valley on Wednesday (December 28).
Leading the way for the Mounties (11-6) was freshman guard Dailani Richardson (6-9 FGM-A, 2-2 3PM-A, 4-4 FTM-A, 4 Asst., 1 Blk.) with 18 points.
Four other Mounties were also in double figures – Briana Lizardi (13 Pts., 6-10 FGM-A, 1-2 FTM-A, 5 RB, 4 Asst.), Kamesha Moore (12 Pts., 6-10 FGM-A, 8 RB, 6 A, 3 Stls.), Jamya Mickens (12 Pts., 5-11 FGM-A, 2-2 3 PM-A, 6 RB, 1 A, 2 Stls.) and Kameria Piggee (11 Pts., 5-6 FGM-A, 7 RB, 1 A, 3 Stls., Blk.).
Maniyah Willingham led Victor Valley (8-7) with a game-high 22 points.
The Mounties had a big first half with a 40-27 lead. They put the game away with a 22-point third quarter for a commanding, 62-39 score.
Mt. SAC begins the new year with a home non-conference game on Friday, January 6 at 5:00 p.m. against El Camino.
