(Norwalk, CA) It was a clean sweep for the Mountie Women's Basketball Program as the team captured their FIFTEENTH consecutive South Coast Conference Championship (SCC) and took home all three SCC Major Honors for the 2015-16 season. The Mounties were a perfect 8-0 in conference and finished the regular season with a near perfect 29-1 record.
Along with Henderson and Vermillion, six other Mounties were honored on the All-SCC Team.
All-SCC First Team
- Caira Benton – Freshman Guard (Arcadia H.S., Monrovia, CA)
- Alize' Lofton – Freshman Guard/Forward (Lynwood H.S., Long Beach, CA)
- Tahniya Sweatt – Sophomore Guard (John Muir H.S., Pasadena, CA)
All-SCC Second Team
- Tshlene Bentley-Freshman Forward (Bloomington Christian H.S., Fontana, CA)
- Amari Terry-Freshman Guard (Alta Loma H.S., Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
- Alisia Spearman-Sophomore Guard (Rancho Verde H.S., Moreno Valley)
The Mounties are currently the number one ranked team in the state and have received the number 1 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Play-Offs. Mt. SAC will begin the play-offs at home, against the winner of the Orange Coast College (#16 seed) and L.A. Valley College (#17 seed), on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased at the gate and are $12 for adults (55 years of age and under) and $8 for Children (6-12 years of age), Students W/ID, Seniors (55+ years of age or better) and Faculty/Staff W/ID. Parking is $4.
