(Walnut, CA) In the teams' first matchup of the season on Feb. 22, Compton College defeated Mt. San Antonio College, 3-2. The Mounties returned the favor on Thursday, March 14, handing the Tartars (13-6, 3-3) an 8-0 South Coast Conference defeat to improve to 14-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Several players sparked the Mt. SAC offense, including Morgan Knubuhler (2-2, 3 RBI, 2B), Alyssa Rubalcava (2-3, R), Amanda Esquivel (1-3, R, 2B), Janis Espinoza (1-3, R, 3 RBI, HR), and Mercedes Alba (1-2, 2 R, 2 RBI, HR).

Aleyna Urbina (6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 4 SO) went the distance to pick up the win and improved to 6-5 on the season.

Winners of six straight, the Mounties will host a non-conference doubleheader against San Diego Mesa College (12-5) on Friday, March 15, beginning at 1 p.m.
