Mt. SAC Men’s Cross Country Team Secures Second Place at SoCal Regionals, Sets Sights on 3C2A Title

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Cross Country Team earned a strong second-place finish at the SoCal Regionals on Friday, November 8, in a strenuous 4-mile race at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. Out of a field of 191 runners, the Mounties completed the course with a total time of 1:46:35, averaging 21:19 per runner, and posted a team score of 93 points.

San Diego Mesa claimed first place with a total time of 1:45:05 and a team score of 35, while San Bernardino Valley secured third place with a time of 1:47:18 and a score of 121.

Diego Varela and Noah Chairez led the Mounties with back-to-back finishes, clocking times of 21:08.5 and 21:09.3 to place 11th and 12th, respectively. Jude Enriquez followed closely in 16th place with a time of 21:16.4. Maximiliano Loera finished 24th at 21:25.5, Jordan Berkley took 30th in 21:35.7, and Joel Fischer came in 33rd with a time of 21:41.6. Bryce Jackson rounded out the top Mountie finishers, placing 36th with a time of 21:47.2.

With the top 16 teams from the region advancing to the state championships, the Mt. SAC Men's Cross Country Team is now preparing for the 3C2A State Championship on Saturday, November 23, at Woodward Park in Fresno. The Mounties, currently ranked No. 1 in the state, will face stiff competition from No. 2 San Diego Mesa and No. 3 Bakersfield in what promises to be an exciting race.
