Mounties begin last season at Marie T. Mills Aquatics Center; Travel to Annapolis, MD for opening tournament

(Walnut, CA) In the final season of the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Center, the Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo team will kick off the home match when they host Caltech on Wednesday, September 7.

The Mounties will begin the season with their annual trip to the East, beginning Saturday, September 3.

They will compete in the Navy Open in Annapolis, Maryland with their first game against Salem University. They will continue with games against Bucknell, George Washington and Mount St. Mary's universities.

The Mounties will play in four tournaments in the month of September, which includes the 48th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational, September 16, 17, with 12 teams from around Southern California.

"We are looking forward to the season after a full off-season and summer training," Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo coach Marc Ruh said. "The team is a really great mix of guys. All are hard-working and very coachable. 

"A very positive team, led by team captains Aidan Murphy, Noah Stark, Trevor Ingersoll, and freshman EJ Lynch."

Returning leaders from last season are Murphy, Stark, Ingersoll and Diego Lopez among others.

"Our incoming class is very strong, and we expect the following group to contribute a great deal this year," Ruh said.

Players to watch are Brandon Fabrega (Walnut HS), Lynch (El Dorado), Zack Ewing and John Samaan (Chino Hills), Jude Solis (Diamond Bar) and Jasper Wang, sophomore (Walnut/Whittier College).

"We have a number of other freshmen, which include Charlie Peralta, Alex Thomas and Cole Fishman (Glendora) and about 12 additional freshmen," Ruh added.
