Unstoppable Mt. SAC Men’s Swim Team Claims First Place in Every Event

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – In a dual conference meet, the Mt. SAC Men's Swim Team came out on top, defeating Chaffey College 222-40 and Rio Hondo 222-29 on Friday, March 21. The Mounties showcased their dominance by earning first place in all 14 of the meet's events.

The relays were a strong area for Mt. SAC, as they claimed victory in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. In the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Jack Painton, Luke Marsden, Haotian Lu, Michael Di Bello, and Ray Chun posted a time of 1:36.56 to secure first place. Later in the meet, the same team took the top spot in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:28.86, further extending Mt. SAC's lead.

In the individual events, Mt. SAC swimmers continued to dominate across the board. In the freestyle events, Ethan Darmon captured first place in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:34.46, while Painton claimed victories in the 500 Free (4:46.65) and 200 Free (1:47.56). Chun won the 100 Free in 47.62 seconds, and Marsden finished first in the 50 Free with a time of 22.47 seconds.

The Mounties also excelled in the backstroke events, with Lu securing first place in the 200 Back with a time of 1:58.72, and Di Bello winning the 100 Back in 53.12 seconds.

In the breaststroke events, Di Bello triumphed in the 200 Breast (2:17.96), while Marsden added another win for Mt. SAC in the 100 Breast with a time of 57.97 seconds.

Ethan Lopez took first place in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:02.58, while Gavin Roberts won the 100 Fly in 54.23 seconds. Finally, Lu rounded out the team's success by claiming first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.04.

The Mounties continue to be a force to be reckoned with this season, consistently excelling in every event and solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the conference as well as the state.

The Mounties will hit the road as they compete against Long Beach City College in a conference matchup on Friday, March 28, starting at 10:00 AM.
