(Torrance, CA) The Mounties Men's Swimmers defeated both L.A. Trade Tech College (229-37) and host El Camino College (172-103) to improve their overall record to 4-0. The Mounties came out strong, capturing the first three events and setting the tone for the rest of the South Coast Conference double dual meet.
The two most exciting events of the day for the Mounties included a come from behind victory in the 200 yard medley relay (Wright, Poon, Morales, Aguirre) and a new 1,000 yard freestyle record set by freshman, Phillip Wright. Wright swam 9:47.28 to destroy the previous record of 9:52.23, set in 2014 by Edward Sanchez. Wright also won the 50 yard freestyle (22.19) and the 200 yard IM (2:00.72).
The Mounties, will look to extend their unbeaten record on the road to take on Chaffey College and Rio Hondo College (host) this Friday, March 20th at 12:30 pm.
