Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team continues to power their way through conference play, picking up another W after defeating Pasadena City College 7-0 on Friday, October 24. The victory marked the Mounties' highest-scoring match of the season and their seventh consecutive win—five of which have been shutouts—highlighting the team's defensive strength.

With this result, Mt. SAC improves to 9-2-3 overall and remains the only undefeated team in South Coast Conference play at 6-0. Pasadena falls to 9-4-4 overall and 2-3-1 in the SCC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Christopher Chavez fired up the offense for the Mounties, netting the first goal of the game off a pass from Rafael Avalos in the 10th minute. Just four minutes later, Julian Vazquez set up Alexis Gomez to double the lead.

Mt. SAC kept up the pressure, with Avalos finding the back of the net in the 25th minute before assisting Alfonso Ramirez for the fourth goal right before halftime, sending the Mounties into the break with a 4-0 advantage.

Avalos wasted no time in the second half, setting up Joseph Prado for Mt. SAC's fifth goal in the 47th minute, while Fabian Barajas added another in the 77th minute off a pass from Caleb Perez. Perez then capped off the night with the team's final goal in the 83rd minute, assisted by Jager Gonzalez.

Goalkeepers Cody Lindeman and Edson Mendez combined for the shutout, with Lindeman recording three saves in the first half and Mendez adding two in the second.

Remarkably, the Mounties converted all seven of their shots on goal—each by a different player—showcasing their depth and balanced attack.
