The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team continued their impressive season with a competitive 3-2 victory over the No. 13 ranked MiraCosta College on Monday, September 16. The match, held in Oceanside, showcased an exciting display of skill and determination from both teams.
The game began with Mt. SAC taking an early lead when Alex Carmona scored in the 3rd minute, assisted by Moises Prado, marking the only goal of the first half. The second half intensified as MiraCosta fought back, leveling the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 51st minute. The Mounties quickly responded, with Hector Chavez regaining the lead in the 62nd minute, assisted by Felipe Cobian. MiraCosta equalized again in the 69th minute, making it 2-2. Ultimately, Mt. SAC clinched the win in the 77th minute with a third and final goal from Victor Fregoso, assisted by Allan Rosales. Notably, this was the first goal of the season for both Carmona and Chavez.
Mt. SAC's goalkeeper, Alex Ledesma, played a crucial role in the match, making three key saves to ensure the Mounties got the win. The Mounties took three shots on goal and converted all of them, demonstrating their offensive efficiency.
With this win, Mt. SAC's record stands at 5-0-2 while MiraCosta falls to 3-3. The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team will look to continue their winning streak as they face Santa Barbara College on Friday, September 20, at 7:30 PM.
