(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Soccer Program captured an additional 14 post season honors, with coach Juan Sanchez being named the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA) South Coach of the Year. Four men captured 13 post season honors, while sophomore midfielder, Liani Sanchez was named to the CCCSCA All-South Regional Women's Team.
Making a clean sweep of post season awards was Alain Hernandez (sophomore goalkeeper) and Angel Santoyo (sophomore forward), both were named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Junior College DIII All-American First Team, USC Junior College DIII All-West Region First Team, CCCSCA All-State Team and the CCCSCA All-South Region Team. Herminio Padilla (sophomore midfielder) was named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Junior College DIII All-American Second Team, USC Junior College DIII All-West Region First Team, CCCSCA All-State Team and the CCCSCA All-South Region Team. Gerardo Cazares (sophomore forward) was named to the USC Junior College DIII All-West Region Second Team.
On top of these awards, the Mountie men also dominated South Coast Conference post season honors placing three on the all-conference first team, four on the all-conference second team as well as taking Coach of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year Honors.
The women's team placed two on the All-SCC first team and two on the SCC second team.
