Mountie Men's Golf Concludes Season with Eighth Place Finish at SoCal Championship

(Bakersfield, CA) Mt. San Antonio College tallied 799 points as a team to place eighth at the 2024 3C2A Men's Golf SoCal Regional Championship held on Sunday and Monday, May 5-6, at the par-72 Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield. The Mounties posted a team score of 394 on the first day of competition and 405 on the second day.

College of the Canyons finished first with 753 points as Cypress College came in second with 757 and Cuyamaca College took third, also with 757 points. Tie-breaking procedures gave Cypress the second-place honors.

Individually, Orange Coast College's Tiger Tahvildari carded the event's low score with a two-day total of 139 (70-69).

Trevor Ruiz led Mt. SAC with a score of 150 (75-75) and was the lone Mountie to qualify for state. Teammates Jacob Riegg (77-82), Kobe Trujillo (78-82), Aaron Fekin (82-83), and Keefe Pantayatiwong (82-83) rounded out the team scoring.

This concludes the Mounties' 2024 team season. Looking forward to seeing how Trevor does at the state championships.
