(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Football Program will begin their 2013 season campaign as the team to beat. The Mounties have been ranked #1 in the JCFootball.com preseason polls and will host #14 ranked Saddleback College, this Saturday (September 7th) at 1:00 pm, here at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Sophomore Wide Receiver, Kaelin Clay (5'11", 180 lbs., L.B. Poly H.S.) was named to the College Football America Preseason All-Junior College Team. Clay's phenomenal season last year, as Quarterback Nick Montana's main target, included 38 receptions for 659 yards (17.3 yard average) and 8 touchdowns.
The mighty Mounties, under Head Coach Bob Jastrab, have been the team to beat the past 7 years and have accomplished what few teams in history have been able to do.
Mountie accomplishments the past seven years includes:
- Overall record of 80 wins and 10 losses (.888 win percentage)
- 7 consecutive bowl game wins
- 6 consecutive Southern California Championships
- 2 National Championships
- 2 State Championships
- 5 State Championship appearances
Tickets for this Saturday's game can be purchased at the gate and are $5 for adults, $3 for Seniors/Children, with FREE admission for Mt. SAC Students with valid ID.
