(Daytona Beach, FL) The Mt. SAC Pep and Dance Teams travelled to Daytona Beach (Florida) to compete at the 2019 National Cheer Association (NCA)/National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships, held on April 5th through the 7th. The Mt. SAC Dance Team captured the National Championship (Division III) in the hip hop category for the second year in a row. The team also placed second in the jazz dance category, which now represents the highest finish (in that category) in Mt. SAC history.
"This team has so much passion, drive, and love for each other, which showed when they took that nationals stage," said coach Talan Armstrong. "Coach Green (Stephanie Green) and I are so proud of what this team has accomplished and we are excited and humbled to be bringing back another national championship to Mt. SAC."
Both the Pep and Dance Teams will be looking to add to their rosters with additional members and will be hosting auditions in May (Dance Team May 18th from 8:30am to 12:00pm and Pep Squad June 1 & 2).
