Walnut, Calif. — In dominant fashion, the Mt. SAC Baseball Team achieved a commanding 25-2 win over Victor Valley College for their first game of the 2025 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In an action-packed game, the Mounties got started early when designated hitter Landon White doubled, bringing in Bryan Bradshaw in the first inning. They continued to roll in the second, as right fielder Luke Bauer launched a home run, and Bradshaw drove in catcher Cole Nachreine with a double. Errors by the Rams allowed both Bradshaw and White to score, pushing Mt. SAC to a 5-0 lead.
The Rams briefly rallied in the top of the fifth, scoring twice on a single by Eric Logsdon and an error by the Mounties, narrowing the lead to 5-2. However, that would be all the Rams could muster, and Mt. SAC was far from finished.
The Mounties roared back in the bottom of the fifth, tacking on five more runs, highlighted by doubles from Nachreine and Nick Mejia, as well as a single from Noah Rodriguez. The Mounties led 10-2.
The offense kept rolling in the sixth, as Jackson Giacone hit a solo homer, and in the seventh, Ty Thomas blasted a three-run shot. Later in the inning, Giacone and Terrell Jackson Jr. scored on a Joel Gutierrez single, bringing the score to 16-2.
To put the finishing touch on their dominance, the Mounties exploded for nine runs in the 8th inning to seal the deal. Tyler Stull delivered two singles and drove in three RBIs, while doubles from Giacone, Bradshaw, White, and Jackson Jr. helped propel the team to an astonishing 25-run total.
