(Compton, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (16-18, 7-11) concluded a three-game South Coast Conference series with a 10-3 win over host Compton College (13-19, 4-12) on Saturday, April 15, to take two out of three from the Tartars.
Trailing 3-0 in the third, Compton narrowed the gap with two runs in the bottom of the inning. The Mounties tallied two in the fifth and one in the sixth to open the gap to 6-2, then sealed the win with four in the eighth.
Blake Hagerty (3-5, 2 R, RBI, 2 2B), Elijah Pelayo (2-4, 2 R, 2 2B), Travis Hobbensiefken (1-2, 2 RBI), Brayden France (1-3, 2 RBI), Joey Rossetti (1-4, 2 R, RBI), and CJ Ontiveros (1-4, R, RBI) helped spark Mt. SAC's offense.
On the basepaths, Gibby Morales (1-4, 2 R), Hagerty, and Pelayo stole a base each for the Mounties.
Starter Sam Silversmith (7 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 SO) got the win, evening his record to 2-2 on the season.
Mt. SAC will host East Los Angeles College (15-19, 12-6) in the first of a three-game SCC series on Tuesday, April 18, at 5 p.m. Game 2 will be in Monterey Park on Thursday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m. and Game 3 in Walnut on Saturday, April 22, at 12 p.m.
