(Cypress, CA) In the rubber contest of a three-game non-conference series, host Cypress College (3-2) defeated Mt. San Antonio College, 7-2, on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The Mounties (4-3) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Chargers responded with three in the bottom half of the same inning, then added two runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

CJ Ontiveros (2-3, R, RBI, 2B), Michael Flores (1-4, R), and Gibby Morales (RBI) were the top hitters for Mt. SAC. On the basepaths. Flores, Travis Hobbensiefken, and Braydyn France picked up stolen bases.

Starter Joey Peralta (1-1) got the loss, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned), and striking out one.

The Mounties return to action at Riverside City College (4-2) on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m.
