Pairings for the upcoming 3C2A Men's and Women's Soccer Regional Championship were released on Tuesday and the Irvine Valley men's team received the No. 9 seed.
The Lasers will start the regional on Saturday at No. 8 Mt. San Antonio at 2 p.m.
The winner will move on to the second round on either Nov. 21 or Nov. 22.
IVC fininshed with an overall record of 12-3-6 overall and was second in the Orange Empire Conference with a mark of 7-1-6. IVC's only defeat in conference was to Fullerton, which earned the No. 2 seed in the regional.
Mt. SAC ended at 7-5-9 overall and won the South Coast Conference North Division at 5-1-3.
The Mounties were led by Victor Fregoso, who scored 12 goals during the regular season and goalie Daniel Ramirez, who started 17 matches and had a 1.12 goals against average.
Please be mindful that the 3C2A does not stream regional playoff games so be wary of social media posts purporting that it does and asking for credit card information. The 3C2A will stream the state semifinals and championships from Mt. San Antonio Dec. 1 and 3.
Irvine Valley was paced over the season by sophomore Lennart Granzow, who was named the OEC Defensive MVP, first team all-conference players Anthony Ocampo, Grant Miller and Ivan Lopez and second team OEC players Lukas Stark, Gabriel Velasco and Jacob Edwards.
Granzow was named first team all-conference and all-region for the Lasers a year ago.
Miller was second in the conference in goals with 17 and Lopez was first in the conference in assists with 17. Both Miller and Lopez tied for second in the OEC with 37 points.
