Megan Powers joins the Kinesiology, Athletics, and Dance Division as a Communications Specialist, bringing over a decade of experience in broadcast journalism. With a strong background as an Assignment Desk Editor at major networks including ABC, CBS and NBC out of Los Angeles and New York. Powers has covered a wide variety of topics from politics and presidential elections to pivotal events such as mass shootings and the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of her favorite assignments include covering the MLB All-Star Game (Los Angeles, 2022) and the Olympics in Tokyo (2021) and Beijing (2022).
Powers graduated from Bishop Amat High School and received her bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton.
She is passionate about Southern California and looks forward to connecting with talented athletes from around the region. She is enthusiastic about promoting the Mt. SAC Athletics program and its exceptional facilities.
Outside of work, Powers enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Dodgers and supporting the arts. Go Mounties!
