
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team delivered impressive performances at the Ron Kamaka Open on February 22, placing in multiple events at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
In distance events, Kaitlyn Reyes and Yadira Arnold secured seventh and eighth place in the 800m with times of 2:25.95 and 2:28.26, respectively. Reyes was also a standout in the 1500m, placing fourth with a time of 4:55.41, while Sophia Ebiner took seventh in the 3000m at 10:44.70.
In hurdles, Alyssah Johnson claimed second place in the 100m hurdles (15.93) before securing a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.07. Leilani Centeno also placed in both events, finishing eighth in the 100m hurdles (17.08) and seventh in the 400m hurdles (1:14.36).
The 4x400m Relay Team of Enessah Hawkins, Megan Stauffer, Leila Champion, and Bianca Peralta clocked 4:02.89 to earn a third-place finish.
Mt. SAC excelled in the pole vault, with Astrid Teran taking first place with a mark of 3.85m. Samantha Diener followed in fifth (3.25m), while Sofia Di Marco placed seventh (3.25m). Annah-Bryce Wright also contributed with a 10th-place finish in the long jump (4.96m).
In throws, Sidney Sparks placed ninth in the shot put (10.23m), while Phoenix Raso finished seventh in discus (35.47m) and fifth in javelin (30.89m). Brooke Welliver also earned a top-10 finish in discus, placing ninth with a mark of 32.01m.
