Mt. SAC Baseball drops opening game of SCC series against Cerritos

(Norwalk, CA) While Mt. San Antonio College (13-7, 5-2) scored first, host Cerritos College (18-4, 9-1) scored the most in an 11-2 South Coast Conference matchup on Tuesday, March 12. The game was the first of three between the teams, with the second and third games scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at 2 p.m. in Walnut, and Saturday, March 16, at noon in Norwalk.

Andrew Walters (2-3, RBI, SB) knocked in the Mounties' first run on a two-out single to right in the top of the fourth that scored Ty Thomas from second and gave Mt. SAC a 1-0 lead. The Falcons responded with three in the bottom half of the inning before Bryan Bradshaw (1-4, RBI, SB) drove in the final Mountie run in the fifth with a single up the middle that scored Andrew Ramirez. From there, it was all Cerritos.

Starter Matthew Lorenzano (4-1) suffered his first loss of the season, throwing 6.2 innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on four hits, and striking out eight.
